Erakor Village Vanuatu - Letter from the Allans
Hi Everyone,Just thought we'd take a minute to thank everyone for their kind support in donating football boots during the year, for us to give to underprivilliged children in Erakor Village,Vanuatu. These children sometimes wear bare feet to kick the ball, others only have one sock to wear on their kicking foot. After we gave the boots to the kids, they won their first game for the season against their arch rival, Mele Village, and they were very excited.
Tom and Jack spent alot of time running around playing football with the kids. They also managed to teach some of thethem how to play Aussie Rules.
We have included some photos from the day we gave the boots to the children. It was a fantastic experience for us to be able to bring some happiness to these kids, and it was a day we wont forget. (editors note - I am endevouring to have the photos published shortly)
Merry Christmas,
From the Allan Family
Club offical, parent, spectator and player behaviour
Many of you will no doubt be aware of the negative publicity recently about junior football, some of which has been specific to our league, the YJFL. As a result there is great sensitivity at the moment to the behaviour of both Club officials and parents/spectators, and no doubt league officials will be vigilant in the coming weeks monitoring things. Perhaps it is pointing out the obvious, but we feel it is important to restate Canterbury JFC's policy with regard to behaviour. As a Club we will not tolerate abuse or threatening behaviour towards umpires, opposition players or officials. It is also not acceptable to abuse opposition parents/supporters. Please remember that it is Junior football after all, and it is played for the children's benefit and enjoyment. Children do not benefit from, nor enjoy, ugly confrontations between parents.
The Canterbury JFC has an excellent reputation for it's behaviour, and we expect everyone's co-operation in maintaining it.
Yours Sincerely,
John Adgemis
Football Director
Canterbury JFC
